In honor of Veteran’s Day, we will share a bit of background on our owner and how he supports veterans.
Owner Jesse “JD” Doyle: US Air Force Reserves
The Owner of JD’s, Jesse “JD” Doyle enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2004 as a C-17 Loadmaster and is still considered active duty in reserve status, teaching at the Formal Training Unit (C-17 schoolhouse).
Jesse has been stationed at both Mcchord and Altus Air Forces Bases, and his time at Mcchord allowed him to serve on all seven continents through several deployments.
Serving as a C-17 Loadmaster, Jesse helped transport/airdrop all the equipment, cargo, and service members from all the different military branches, as well as other countries’ military.
When asked why he chooses to support veterans, Jesse says, “I’ve seen firsthand the sacrifice these men and women endure after multiple year-long plus deployments.”
Jesse’s experience in the military led to his interest in helping and supporting veterans. Jesse believes there is honor in serving your country and wants JD’s Hideaway to be a place where current and former military personnel can come together and have a great time.
Because our Altus, OK., location is centered in a military town, we enjoy the company of young soldiers and offer them a fun place to eat, drink and throw axes. JD’s also loves to throw homecoming or deployment gatherings/celebrations for the military members.
How JD’s Hideaway Supports Veterans
JD’s is proud to be a veteran-owned business, and we gladly offer 10% off all food for veterans. Veterans and active military personnel also receive $5 off our per-person rates! Additionally, we support and donate services/money to help military groups and professional organizations on Altus AFB and Ft. Sill.
Veteran’s Day 2021 Special: On November 11th, 2021, we’re offering veterans a free 30-minute axe throwing session when you show an ID! Walk-in sessions only.
Axe Throwing at JD’s Hideaway
JD’s Hideaway is a full-service, veteran-owned bar and grill, and axe throwing venue with multiple lanes. We have five axe-throwing lanes at each location and shuffleboard, pool, and a golf simulator (games vary by location).
Guests are given instructions on how to throw an axe and can compete against their friends. Our menu includes items like our delicious flatbread pizza, wings, mouth-watering burgers, and craft beers on tap.
